The Edison Gardens kids enjoyed their Christmas Celebration on Sunday, December 16! Some of the kids began making a candy cane ornament craft while waiting for lunch to arrive; while others played games. After lunch, we taught a Bible lesson about the meaning of Christmas and the candy cane, and finished up the candy cane craft.

We had more than 55 total attendees, which included 29 guests, 22 volunteers (including 5 volunteer children), three Edison Gardens parents, and several older siblings that stopped by while we were cleaning up! Every seat, table, and floor space in the Community Center was full!!

We had a special visit by Santa Claus! Santa began by getting on his knees and praying. The entire room was silent, which was a rare moment! Santa then passed out a Christmas ornament and a candy cane to everyone, and took pictures with children that wanted one taken. After Santa’s visit, we concluded the Christmas celebration by sending small groups of kids downstairs to get their coats, Christmas present from Son City Kids, and left-over food. We also celebrated three birthdays in December by passing out Build-A-Bear birthday presents.
