Edison Gardens September Event @ Crooked Creek Ranch

The Edison Gardens kids experienced a warm and sunny afternoon, at Crooked Creek Ranch, on Sunday, September 16! This was a first-time visit for some of the children, and they anxiously asked questions about the Ranch, and how long it would take to get there, as they were riding on the yellow school bus. As the bus pulled up to the Ranch, we were greeted by volunteers from both Crooked Creek, and from Kohl’s department store, in Mishawaka. Cindy Shuder, the owner of Crooked Creek Ranch, generously offers the use of her Ranch to Son City Kids every year. The Ranch has become one of Edison Gardens’ favorite outings!

Several of our volunteers went to the Ranch before the bus arrived to set up, and grill, a picnic lunch for us upon our arrival. After lunch, the kids rode horses and bicycles, played on the wooden playground and tire swing, visited with the farm animals, played croquet and basketball, and went on multiple tractor rides! Forty-one (41) attendees from Edison Gardens were at Crooked Creek Ranch, which included 25 guests, and 16 volunteers.
