The Edison Gardens Team hosted volunteers from GCC’s 2nd Saturday program at the May 12 Event at Edison Gardens. We had more than 16 children, 11 Son City Kids volunteers, plus three 2nd Saturday volunteers from GCC in attendance! We served Krispy Kreme donuts, muffins, and bananas along with apple and orange juice, and Starbucks coffee!!

We spent the morning weeding and preparing the soil for planting; while the Edison Gardens kids made Mother’s Day presents for their Moms. The kids were able to bring Mom a flower pot, and a bird feeder!

We provided a watering can to the kids after planting the flowers, hoping that the flowers would be watered, and last through the warm summer months. As of this past Friday, the flowers were thriving, and looked beautiful! We have also been blessed by rain!!
