The Edison Gardens kids had an awesome time bowling at Strikes & Spares on Sunday, March 18! We had 19 children, three parents, and 18 Son City Kids volunteers, including two NEW team members!! Dean and I would like to sincerely thank everyone who spent their Sunday afternoon with us. We were thrilled to see so many faces at the first Event of 2007!
This year holds many more fun Events for both the Edison Gardens residents, and for our Son City Kids Team. We are so blessed to have you with us, sharing the love of Christ with these children, and taking your next step towards Christ, at the same time.

We celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday with the families, and friends, of Edison Gardens on Sunday, November 19, at the Edison Gardens Community Center! A big THANK YOU to everyone who spent their Sunday afternoon with us!!
Our guests were welcomed with fellowship and game playing! Then we enjoyed a Bible lesson about the “Five Kernels.” After thanking God for providing for all our needs and for loving us, we all enjoyed a hot, Thanksgiving dinner. We concluded our Event by having the kids fill out a Christmas Wish List, and by practicing Christmas carols in preparation for our December outing. We had an abundance of food left over; so we were able to send take-out containers home with every family.

The October Event for Edison Gardens was held bright and early on Saturday, October 14, at Crooked Creek Ranch in Wakarusa! We had 9 children from Edison Gardens, more than 30 volunteers from 2nd Saturday, and GCC’s OPA Team join us!! Thank you to everyone who spent Saturday morning at the Ranch!!!
Our group was welcomed with Krispy Kreme doughnuts, hot chocolate, coffee, and Sunny D! Then we spent time playing on the beautiful new playground; riding horses and bicycles; exploring the Ranch’s trails, donkeys, and ducks; and enjoying Cindy’s tractor, and tractor basketball, rides. Our Event concluded with a performance by GCC’s OPA Team, pumpkins, and Halloween treat bags for every child. Even though it was a crisp, fall morning; we were blessed with good weather and an abundance of Son Shine! Thank you, Cindy, for allowing our group to use your Ranch, and playgrounds, to bring God’s children closer to nature and to Him!
